All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon confirmation of your booking or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Alfreton, drivers must be a minimum of 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for those under 25. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, must be held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Renters are required to present valid identification and proof of current address. Payment information and a security deposit are necessary as well. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations for car hire can be completed via our website, by phone, or directly at our Alfreton office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required upon collecting the vehicle. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure processing through trusted payment systems.
4. Car Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, please conduct a careful inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed by both parties. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for ordinary wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. The vehicle should also be returned with the same level of fuel as when picked up; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Should you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please notify us as soon as possible, as late returns may incur extra fees. You will be liable for any parking tickets, traffic infringements, or fees accrued during your rental, along with a processing fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You will find full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability, so reviewing these is advisable. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless supplemented by extra coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance provisions.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges, affecting your overall rental costs.
7. Restricted Uses
Prohibited Vehicle Uses:
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky pursuits is not allowed. The transport of hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is illegal. Additionally, using the vehicle for purposes it is not intended for, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside authorized geographical boundaries is prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Alfreton will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount you paid for your rental in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive authority of the English and Welsh courts.
